Biomass Jet Fuel Lowers Need for Foreign Oil
Sunday, October 23rd, 2011
Lanza Tech is leading the way in a project being worked on alongside, Imperium Renewables (a Seattle biofuel producer) and the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, or PNNL, to develop a new process in order to convert biomass alcohols into jet biofuels. This whole process was made possible by the U.S. Department of Energy, or DOE. Money was awarded to these companies to help research how well these chemicals will mix with your more traditional petroleum jet fuels.

Biodiesel Production And Its Use As A Biofuel
Thursday, September 30th, 2010
Fossil Fuel reservoirs are depleting, the demand for these energy fuels is increasing. We all know that these resources take millions of years and huge pressure to evolve, can we actually afford a world without them? By any chance, will there be any economy at all to move? The entire nations will become stand-still. So, is there anything we can do about it now? Unfortunately, there is absolutely no way to renew the fossil fuels. However, we can switch to biofuels as soon as we can, such that they can become a part of every human soon.

How Can We Use Ethanol and Methanol as Bio-Fuels?
Tuesday, September 21st, 2010
Ethanol and methanol are alternative fuels that are getting ready to replace conventional fuels that have been in use till now. The need for finding alternative energy source arose from the fact that fossil fuels are on the verge of depletion and hence, sooner or later, we will need to incorporate an alternative energy source that is renewable and easily available.

Third Generation Biofuels
Tuesday, September 14th, 2010
World is running out of energy and no one is untouched by this fact. As fossil fuels are fast depleting, the renewable energy sources are as promising as first rain to farmer is. However, there are many constrains on many of these renewable energy sources that result in output or end product derived from these sources as insufficient like harnessing bulk amount of electricity is almost impossible. Here comes the brighter prospect, third generation fuel. Algae are a biodegradable fuel source that promises high yield per acre when compared to conventional biofuels. Oil spills will no longer kill the sea gulls if we welcome third generation biofuel into our everyday life.

How to Use Potatoes and Juice as Biofuels
Wednesday, September 8th, 2010
Those who have not heard of biofuels before, this is the right time and a good chance to get to know them better because in near future, you will need to hear a lot about them and even use them in your day-to-day life. Biofuels are the resultants of animals and plants extracts. We need to thank genetic engineering that came with this breakthrough and now; we can put fossil fuel reservoirs to rest. Coming back to the point, biofuels are natural fuels that are employed in many industries and automobiles as ‘Go Green’ hit the century hard. The reasons were very obvious and hence, no one can blame industries or economies, without looking at own self and our contributions to those reasons.

Advantages of Using Wood Pellet Over Other Solid Bio-Fuels
Tuesday, September 7th, 2010
Biomass fuels are a hit nowadays as there is an alarming decline in fossil fuel reservoirs. This is a world-wide crisis and we really need to play our part actively, so that we make one small change in our routine at least. With every house switching to biomass fuels, we can considerably lower the consumption of non-renewable resources and therefore, decrease the effect of global warming too. Wood pellet is one such fuel source that is far more safe and efficient when used.

Fourth Generation Bio-fuels
Friday, September 3rd, 2010
With the fossil fuels depleting at an alarming rate nowadays, it is feared that we may run out of resources pretty soon. It is obvious that this technological era would come to stand still, if there is no power to drive the world ahead. Scientists are desperately working on finding the right driving force. The outcome of their hard work is fourth generation biofuel that are safe and biodegradable. These fuels are the result of several complex ‘bio-chemical’ and ‘thermo-chemical’ processes. The evolution of these fuels is said to bring about a revolution in the global energy arena, thanks to the genetic engineers!

How Can We Use Vegetable Oil As Biofuel
Wednesday, September 1st, 2010
Vegetable oil is a part of every kitchen around the globe. However, a few know that they have been used from almost a century in many automobiles as well. It may surprise you, but it is true and now, one needs to be prepared for incorporating biofuel in daily routines too. We all are aware of the fact that petroleum is available in quite limited quantity. Furthermore, given that the time it takes to reach the stage of oil is thousands of years, we can not expect to generate or produce petroleum on our own. If so, think of what we will be leaving for our next generation?

Biofuel Types and Production
Saturday, April 24th, 2010
Crisis of energy sources are a vital issue which every nation is facing. The existing energy resources which we commonly use are on the verge of extinction and if we continue to use them at this rate there won’t be drop left after a decade. So the concept of using renewable energy sources is coming and is gaining huge popularity. One such renewable energy resource is the biofuels and here we will focus on that. Biofuels are actually the energy sources which are obtained from plants of various kinds. There are different kinds of biofuels depending on the type of plant that is used to produce it. Some major types are:-
